Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Focus Cat - Boncuk mobile application (the "App"). By installing, creating an account, or otherwise using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

The App is a personal productivity application that lets users with attention difficulties run focus sessions together with friends, with gamification elements (cat character, virtual items, shared room, goal streaks). The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Account and Security

• You may create an account using your email address or Google account.
• You are responsible for the security of your account — keeping your password safe and not sharing access.
• All activity that occurs under your account is attributable to you.
• The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users aged 13–15 must use the App with parental consent.
• Creating multiple accounts to abuse the economy features (XP, coins, goal streaks) is prohibited.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to do any of the following:

• Harass, insult, threaten, or bully other users
• Post unlawful, hateful, or rights-infringing content (including in group names, cat names, invite messages)
• Reverse engineer the App, attempt to access its source code, or use automated tools (bots)
• Fabricate focus data, cheat, or otherwise exploit the system to accumulate XP/coins
• Send requests at a volume that could harm our servers (DDoS, rate-limit abuse)
• Attempt unauthorized access to another user's account
• Use invite codes to send unsolicited messages (spam)

Accounts that violate these rules may be suspended or deleted without notice.

4. Virtual Currency (Coins)

• "Coins" earned in the App are virtual values usable solely for in-app decoration and accessory purchases.
• Coins have no real-world monetary value and are non-refundable, non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash.
• When your account is deleted, all coin balances are removed.
• The App currently has no in-app purchases (no real-money coin sales). This may change in the future; if so, these Terms will be updated.

5. User Content

Content you create within the App (group names, cat names, display names, invite codes) is your responsibility. You grant us a limited license to process this content where required for the App's functionality (making it visible to your group members, etc.). You retain the intellectual property rights to your content; we use it solely to operate the App.

6. Intellectual Property

The App's software, design, cat sprites, decoration artwork, icons, and texts are owned by or licensed to Ahmet Asım Güç. Beyond personal use, reproduction, derivative works, commercial use, or redistribution is prohibited.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services such as Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, and Expo Push. Interruptions, errors, or policy changes by these providers may affect the App's functionality. The terms of service of the respective providers also apply.

8. Service Availability

• The App is provided "as is" and "as available."
• We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or work flawlessly on all Android devices.
• Certain features may be changed, suspended, or removed with or without prior notice.
• During early-access (closed testing) phases, data loss, account resets, or unexpected behavior may occur.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ahmet Asım Güç and the App shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App,
• Loss of profits, data, reputation, or business interruption,
• Disruptions to third-party services (Firebase, Google Sign-In, Expo, Play Store).

Total liability shall in no event exceed the amount, if any, you have paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.

10. Termination

• You may close your account at any time via Settings → Delete my account.
• If you violate these Terms, we may suspend or delete your account without prior notice.
• If the App is discontinued, we will announce it within the App with reasonable advance notice.

11. Privacy

For information about how your personal data is processed, please read the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy forms an integral part of these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be communicated within the App or by email. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from the App. Mandatory consumer rights under applicable consumer protection laws remain reserved.
